Every year the sky over Battle Creek, MI fills with hot air balloons of all sizes, shapes, and colors. The event is usually held near the beginning of July, and has more than just "hot air." Other events such as an arts and craft show, concerts, an airshow, and carnival rides also take place during this week long event. The Battle Creek airport is transformed into a theme park like setting for the event, which includes several miles of fence, lots of trash cans, and around 100 vendors selling everything from balloon pins to elephant ears. Once in the event area, fun is just a walk away.
